Samira's journalism spans over 15 years, covering issues of human rights, immigrant communities, gender violence, hate speech and hate crimes among other issues. She is a South Asian Journalists Association Outstanding Reporting Nominee, a Maynard 200 Fellow, Institut für Auslandsbeziehungen Cross-Cultural Fellow, and an alum of Poynter Power of Diverse Voices and Intl Center for Journalists Digital Media Co-op.
